Struggles with blog design.
I have been trying madly to get up to speed with this blogging business, but things are progressing quite slowly. Every time I want to try something new, I get stuck trying to find my way in this maze.
I did find some wonderful websites to help us newbies along.
One of them is the site, or actually a set of sites from the blog-expert Matt Garrett: http://blogtactics.com/videos or
He posts there a series of instructional videos (free), about website and blog installation and setup. Just excellent.
Although, in one of his videos about how to install the autoresponder opt-in form into the blog, he suggests to go to, or choose the “Sidebar Option” in order to install this form.
Now for the world of me I cannot find this “Sidebar Option” anywhere on my blog, or in the administrative section.
After spinning my wheels for way too long, I concluded that this was omitted in the theme I had chosen (Carrington).
So, I searched, and found another theme that looked a bit similar to what I had, so I installed that.
Still no bloody Sidebar Option to be found.
Am I choosing the wrong themes?
In the videos of Matt it all looks so simple, but in practice it turns out to be totally different.
It just drives me nuts, and I spend way too much time fooling around with these frustrations.

Hi Willem,
thanks for the mention!
I take you got the sidebar problem sorted out ok afterwards?
cheers,
Matt
Hi Willem,
one quick point, I notice that you’re using the default permalink structure in your blog, I’d recommend changing it to
/%postname%/
there is a video showing how to do this on the videos page on BlogTactics.com
cheers,
Matt
